Macarons
I chose to recreate a photograph of macarons and pinecones in CG. I have a major sweet tooth, so I knew I wanted to make a CG piece of desserts, and I chose macarons because they are a very photogenic dessert. I found the photo on the Internet, and the macaron and pinecone models on CGTrader. The models came textured, but I had to do some tweaking to the macarons, to get them to the correct color, specularity, and subsurface value. (The macarons were originally blue and pink with the texture maps provided on CGTrader.)
I created this in Maya, using the Arnold renderer, and composited it in Nuke. I am responsible for the layout and camera move, lighting, rendering, and compositing.
