Shark
I wanted to experiment with creating a CG scene based on artwork, such as how concept art can be used in productions. I chose a beautiful painting of a shark by Shannon Hallstein. I got the shark from CGTrader, and the diver from Turbosquid. To create the waves at the top, I used a texture provided on the Arnold documentation website, and made some adjustments so that it would better match the look I wanted. I got the caustics for my light here.
I created this piece in Maya, using Arnold renderer, and composited it in Nuke. To get a more painterly look, I ran it through some Photoshop filters.
